Object Perception & Motivation

You can take part if you meet these criteria:

  • Aged 18-40
  • Fluent English speaker
  • You have normal/corrected to normal vision
  • Like chocolate

You cannot take part if any of the below is true:

  • You have any food allergies or intolerances
  • You have a history of anaphylaxis related to food
  • You are diabetic
  • You are currently taking medication which affects vision, attention or appetite
  • You took part in the study; ‘object perception and cognition’ or ‘object perception and hunger’.

Study description:

Participants needed for a study investigating the relationship between motivation and object perception. You will be required to attend a lab session on campus involving some computer tasks and sampling objects made of different materials, some of which may be edible, and completing some questionnaires. There will be regular breaks throughout the study where you will be free to do as you wish, but we do ask that you remain in the lab. You may be required to fast for up to 2 hours before arrival at the lab. You will be compensated for your time and effort.
